Shipping policy

At NOC SHIFT Coffee Co., every bag is roasted fresh after you place your order — never pulled off a dusty warehouse shelf that’s been sitting longer than your last mandatory staff meeting.

Fresh coffee takes time, but the payoff is worth it: bold flavor, peak freshness, and coffee crafted specifically for your shift.


Roasted-to-Order Process

Every order is:

  • Fresh roasted after purchase
  • Packed specifically for your order
  • Prepared in small batches for peak flavor and quality

Unlike mass-produced coffee, we don’t pre-roast and warehouse our products.

Your coffee is made for you — not pulled from a pile of stale inventory.


Processing Time

Orders are typically processed within:

3–5 business days

(excluding weekends and holidays)

During holidays or high-volume periods, processing times may take a little longer.

Good coffee can’t be rushed. Neither can surviving night shift.

Once an order enters production, modifications or cancellations may no longer be possible.


Shipping Time

After processing, estimated delivery times are generally:

  • 2–5 business days within the United States
  • Delivery times vary depending on carrier and location

Typical delivery estimates:

  • Southern California: ~2 business days after shipment
  • East Coast / smaller cities: ~5+ business days after shipment

Basically: the farther you are from California, the longer your coffee road trip.


Shipping Carriers

Orders are shipped using:

  • USPS
  • UPS

Shipping method is automatically selected based on package size and destination.

Your coffee travels more than some travelers do.


Tracking Information

Tracking information will be emailed once your shipping label is created.

Please note:

  • Tracking may initially show as “Pre-Shipment” while your coffee is being roasted, packed, and prepared for pickup
  • Tracking updates may take 24–48 hours to refresh after label creation
  • This is completely normal during the roast-to-order process

If the tracking looks frozen for a day, don’t panic — your coffee is probably still being born.


Incorrect Addresses

Customers are responsible for ensuring shipping information is accurate at checkout.

If the wrong address is entered, replacement orders may need to be placed at the customer’s expense.

Double check your address — especially if you’re ordering post-shift and running on caffeine fumes.


International Shipping

International shipping may be available to select countries.

Please note:

  • International shipping times vary significantly
  • Import duties, taxes, and customs fees are the responsibility of the customer
  • International orders are non-refundable once shipped

Unfortunately, customs officials also run on their own schedule.


Fresh Coffee Takes Time

We believe customers prefer reliable, freshly roasted coffee over coffee that’s been sitting forgotten in a warehouse for weeks.

Our process is designed to deliver coffee near peak flavor — not just as fast as possible.

Because stale coffee is a crime against night shift workers everywhere.


Holiday & High Volume Delays

During holidays, promotions, or periods of high order volume, processing and shipping times may be extended.

When the caffeine demand spikes, our roasters go into full code blue mode.

We appreciate your patience while we keep the grinders running.

Package Theft & Delivery Responsibility

At NOC SHIFT Coffee Co., we work hard to ensure every order arrives safely and on time. Once your coffee leaves the roastery, it enters the hands of the shipping carrier (USPS, UPS, etc.).

Because porch pirates apparently don’t sleep either, we want to clearly explain our delivery policies.


Delivery Responsibility

The shipping carrier is responsible for your package until it is marked as “Delivered” to the shipping address provided at checkout.


Customer Responsibility

Once delivery has been confirmed by the carrier, orders are considered successfully delivered.

NOC SHIFT Coffee Co. is not responsible for packages lost, stolen, or missing after confirmed delivery.

Unfortunately, we can roast coffee — but we haven’t figured out teleportation yet.


If Your Package Shows Delivered But Is Missing

If your tracking says “Delivered” but your coffee has vanished into the night:

  1. Check around your porch, mailbox, parcel locker, or side door
  2. Check with neighbors or household members
  3. Wait 24 hours — carriers occasionally scan packages early
  4. Contact your local USPS or shipping carrier for additional delivery details

You may also consider:

  • Filing a USPS Missing Mail request
  • Filing a carrier claim
  • Filing a local police report for stolen mail

Replacement Requests

While we cannot guarantee replacements or refunds for packages marked as delivered, we understand every situation is unique and will review concerns on a case-by-case basis.

We’ll always do our best to help where reasonably possible.


Delivery Protection Recommendations

To help reduce package theft risk, we recommend:

  • Shipping to a secure work address
  • Using a P.O. Box or secure parcel locker
  • Shipping to a trusted friend or family member
  • Monitoring tracking updates closely

Honestly, hospitals may be safer than some front porches these days.
